Technology Services provides campus-wide technology solutions that support the teaching, learning, and research missions of the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. We partner with other departmental IT staff to serve nearly 70,000 faculty, staff, and students.

- Communications Technician I
This position will work with a team of technicians to provide networking capabilities to Faculty, Staff and Students throughout the Urbana-Champaign campus. Other duties include troubleshooting communications services and locating outside plant cabling. Ideal candidates for a Communications Technician I will have experience in enterprise networking and installation of fiber optic cabling. The incumbent may work inside and outside during all types of weather

- Communications and Marketing Specialist
This position is a member of a creative team at Technology Services. The Communications and Marketing team represents Technology Services to students, faculty, staff, and the general public through events, written communications, multimedia, social media, and the web.
Reporting to the Assistant Director of Communications and Marketing, this position will work with dozens of other teams within and outside of the organization to support the academic and research missions of the university. We are looking for candidates with strong written communication skills, knowledge of the project lifecycle and project communications, and a passion for designing websites with WordPress. A successful candidate will have excellent collaboration and organization skills, an eye for detail, be an outside-the-box thinker, and a heart for customer service.

- Associate Audio-Visual Specialist
This position builds relationships with and provides direct hands-on assistance to campus faculty, instructors, and staff to enhance the instructional efficiency and learning outcomes of course curriculum. The incumbent will incorporate instructional pedagogy and technology best practices in general assignment classrooms. Additionally, the appointed hire will work with other units on campus to ensure faculty and instructor needs are fully supported in the classroom.

- Cybersecurity Risk Analyst or Senior Cybersecurity Risk Analyst
A successful candidate will play a role in this mission by helping our university research, academic, and administration customers navigate the myriad of university and regulatory requirements that university business processes are subject to, as well as provide university leadership with critical analytical information to inform handling decisions regarding the risks that arise from the use of technology in university business processes. The Senior level analyst will be expected to, in addition to analyst duties, provide leadership on university projects that involve the team and serve in a mentoring role, as directed by the team lead.The day-to-day work in this position is team-oriented, with individual responsibility for completing risk analysis engagements, but plenty of collegial support to guide as to the university’s risk handling philosophies and processes, and offer advice for situations that do not fit neatly into the “textbook” categories.

- Web Application Developer or Senior Web Application Developer
The Web Hosting team at Technology Services seeks applicants for a Drupal Developer and WordPress Developer under the title of Web Application Developer or Senior Web Application Developer. These positions provide development and support to the Publish.Illinois.edu and cPanel services as well as the Website Management Center of Expertise and the Website Implementation Guidelines Group. The prime candidates will be familiar with Drupal or WordPress, Accessibility standards, and working in Higher Education. These positions must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, as they will be working with employees and peers of all levels within the organization. They must be able to handle multiple projects and tasks simultaneously and be able to work well under pressure. The candidates should also be very dependable, have strong decision-making skills, and be able to handle many disruptions during the workday. These positions report to the Manager of Web Hosting at Technology Services and are remote eligible. The Web Hosting team at Tech Services is highly collaborative and supportive and we look forward to increasing our team’s skill sets and capacity.

Provides campus-wide communication tools, teaching and learning technology, web hosting, quality assurance, and software development.
Infrastructure
Provides campus networking, virtual hosting, structured database storage and administration, and installation and maintenance for managing data and voice services between campus buildings.
Privacy and Security
Dedicated to helping reduce risk, and protect people, devices, and information at the University of Illinois.
Research and Innovation
Provides IT access and support for advanced computing resources for the University of Illinois research community.
Service Delivery
Provides the entry point into Technology Services, including direct support for the everyday technology needs of the campus community.
